The twins continue to do amazing. They are still just getting bottles to eat mixed with a little rice cereal to thicken it and hopefully lessen the spitting up. They are big boys, or strapping young men, as I like to call them :) Devin is weighing in at 14 lb 11 oz and Dakota at 15 lb 9 oz. Devin is in the 10-25% for his weight and Dakota is in the 25-50%. This is huge. At their 4 month check up they just made it onto the growth chart at the 1%. Not that they weren’t doing terrific, it was just because they are on the normal growth chart vs a premie one so it took them a while to ‘catch up’ to babies their actual age, but they have done it now! I took them to a developmental doctor a few weeks ago, which their pediatrician suggested as a follow up from the NICU. There are no issues and they do not need to go back again unless their pediatrician feels there is a need to. This also is huge! Again, it is so hard to take a step back and remember back 5 1/2 months ago to where they started to where they have gotten to. These are some seriously amazing babies!
They are rolling from their tummies to their backs, which they have been doing since coming home from the NICU. Makes tummy time a little hard to do, but they are strong just like the big boys were. They love going in the exersaucer and jumperoo. They get to see everything and play with all the toys. They smile ALL.THE.TIME. They are so easy going and happy most of the time. This makes our lives that much easier, because I can’t imagine if they were fussy or colicky….
Devin laughed for the first time last Wednesday! It was precious to say the least. The big boys just love their baby brothers. They hold them, sing to them, and give them numerous kisses throughout the day. They are all so lucky to have each other!
