Turn on the Bright Lights

Written by Justin posted on Jun 1, 2011 in Dakota, Devin, Photos

Where do I begin? Well…..we have 2 more Grimm boys! Yes siree bob.  After one of the hardest journeys we have had to endure as a couple, Dawn gave birth to twin baby boys last Saturday (5.28.2011) afternoon.  She was 30 weeks pregnant and fought like a champion prize fighter to keep them in as long as possible.  It’s been almost 5 days and both Devin Daniel Grimm and Dakota Eric Grimm are doing exceptionally well.  They are and will continue to be monitored very closely by the Evanston Northshore ISCU nurses and doctors.  It will be there home for the first 5-7 weeks (hopefully) of life. Outside of being in our arms, there is no other place I would rather have them being cared for.  Throughout our journey ALL the staff(doctors, nurses, residents, fellows, techs) were nothing short of spectacular.

Dawn (drugged and all) and I, were floored to find out we had two more Grimm boys to welcome into the nest. As I’m sure many of you were too. Even the doctor delivering was stunned, which brings a nice big smile to my face. I won’t have to be one of those dads who worries sick about his little girl. Nope, they will have to worry about my boys! I’m still awe-struck over the whole thing.  I really am at a loss for words. So I’ll let some of the first photos of Dakota and Devin do the talking.

Were you worried you might have to change the name of your blog to Grimm children? :) 4 boys, that is awesome! Congrats, so glad they are doing well! Looking forward to meeting these two handsome little men!

    Amanda –

One of the first things I said to Dawn after we found out it was four boys was that I would not have to change the name of the site ;). Honest to god!

But I did purchase “thegrimmfamily.com” quite a few months back just in case.
